LGD, EG and Alliance advance into SL|i-League LAN playoffs

After all the games scheduled for Group A of Starladder|i-League have been played, LGD finished top of the ladder followed by Alliance and Evil Geniuses.

Undoubtedly the game of the day in group A was Fnatic vs EG, a really close battle for Fnatic to contest one of the top three spots.

Fnatic did not have a very good start but they were prepared for a very late game, picking Medusa for Chai "Mushi" Yee Fung and Outworld Devourer for Zheng "Miduan" Yeik Nai with a lot of benefits from a support Bounty Hunter. They were playing from behind for the entire game and the big turnaround happened for them with EG’s first attempt to breach high ground. From that moment on we witnessed a very intense game with both teams going back and forth into the enemy base, chopping down barracks after barracks.

The last five minutes of the game decided Fnatic’s fate in Minsk. A fully committed five man push from Fnatic team managed to secure mega creeps but with the cost of their Medusa life which had no buyback. That single mistake allowed EG to counter push and took the game aiming straight for the ancient.

After a short lunch break in Minsk the games resumed with Alliance vs Evil Geniuses playing for a better seed into the playoffs bracket. Alliance did exactly what everyone would expect from them with a Broodmother pick for Bulldog and a Chaos Knight - Io combo while EG allowed themselves to try a weird draft with Suma1L on Sand King and Fear on Earth Spirit. Things didn’t work perfectly for the boys in blue and Alliance punished each and every mistake, claiming the victory relatively fast.

Second day at Starladder|i-League continues with Group B where Team Secret have to tread carefully if they want to secure a top three finish.
