BTS Series EU #1: The race begins, 8 teams down

The first round of the BTS Series EU has ended with eight teams getting eliminated in the fast paced best-of-three single elimination bracket. Among the teams that made it through are Na'Vi and Vega.

With eight teams being eliminated, the eight teams who won their matches will go on to face each other in the second round. Today, the 26th of December, will witness two additional teams get eliminated. The matches for today are ProDota vs Fantastic 5 at 17:00 CET and COOKISS vs NLG at 20:00 CET. The other two matches in round two will be played tomorrow and will feature Na'Vi vs ARCADE at 17:00 CET and Vega vs Alternate Dota at 20:00 CET.

COOKISS wins their first official match - Hellraisers still struggling:

The most surprising result of the first round is the 2-1 in COOKISS vs Team Spirit. The loss by Team Spirit broke their 13 official match win streak and was uncharacteristic for a team who took down Virtus.Pro 2-1 earlier in the month. This was also reflected by the match having a 83% - 17% betting odds. As for COOKISS, they will be happy knowing that they have taken down Gosuranking's 12th best team despite being formed less than three weeks ago with relatively lesser known players.

On another note, Hellraisers are still struggling to return back to their pre-TI5 form after losing star player and captain Andrey 'Dread' Golubev. Hellraisers lost to Polish team Alternate Dota, a team who managed to get invited for The Defense #5's LAN finals after the 4C&L pulled out of the event and have taken games off teams like Team Spirit and Liquid.
