Team SatuDuaTiga win the Malaysia Cyber Games and become Team Taring

After three days of quality Dota 2 at the Malaysia Cyber Games, Team SatuDuaTiga secured a 2-1 victory over Team Who2Bet in the Grand Finals. They are now sponsored by the Malaysian government, and are known as Team Taring.

While the Malaysia Cyber Games may not have attracted the viewership of other recent events such as the Frankfurt Major, it still marks a significant event in Dota 2 this year. After a weekend of closely-contested play, Team SatuDuaTiga emerged victorious, with the Malaysian Prime Minister watching the proceedings. Part of the prize for victory was a sponsorship from the Malaysian government. As a result, Team SatuDuaTiga will go forward with the new name Team Taring and the support of their entire country.

The competition was fierce in the Stadium Negara over the three days of competition at the Malaysia Cyber games. In the end, the grand final for Dota 2 was fought between Team SatuDuaTiga and Team Who2Bet. In the crowd sat Dato’ Seri Najib, the Malaysian Prime Minister, watching eagerly to see who would become the official Malaysian Dota 2 team.

After three games between the two titans of Malaysian Dota 2, Team SatuDuaTiga emerged victorious. They claimed the RM125 000 grand prize and, more importantly, a sponsorship from the Malaysian government itself.

Team SatuDutaTiga is now Team Taring, the national Dota 2 team of Malaysia. Their first game as Team Taring was a 10v10 showmatch with members of the crowd joining them in a battle against Team Secret and other members of the audience. The game was played in good spirit, and lasted just over 40 minutes before Clement ‘Puppey’ Ivanov led the rest of Team Secret and their band of merry Malaysians to victory.

Team Taring’s roster:

Malaysia Wei ‘YamateH’ Poong Ng
Malaysia Chua 'Ice' Chee Cai
Malaysia Adam ‘343’ Shah
Malaysia Lee 'Papaxiong' Vei Siang
Malaysia Sim 'Ling' Woi Cheong

Their first game as Team Taring may not have resulted in victory, but the future looks bright for Team Taring. They have the support of the Malaysia behind them, doubtlessly bringing them heaps of confidence in their upcoming matches. There is a hard road ahead of Team Taring to qualify for the Shanghai Major. Despite this, they will go into each match knowing that they are representing not only themselves but their entire country - this will give them strength and motivation when they need it most.
