OG one step closer to the DreamLeague #4 title

Second day in the DreamLeague LAN playoffs was defined by dominating performances from OG and saw Alliance eliminated on home turf at Dreamhack Winter.

After the premature elimination of the ESL One New York 2015 Champions, Vega Squadron in the first day of the event, day two started with the match up between Alliance and 4Clovers & Lepricon. An interesting series, as technically eight out of the 10 players involved in the match up have played for Alliance in the past.

Although 4C&L features three former members of Alliance, S4 was not afraid to draft the most obvious heroes for Henrik 'AdmiralBulldog' Ahnberg, Lone Druid and Furion, which might have costed them the series. Strong performances from Pelle 'Pajkat' Olsson Lille on Shadow Fiend and Windranger coupled with better coordination in team fights from 4 C&L knocked Alliance into the lower bracket.

Having to face Empire in the elimination series, Alliance shown signs of recovery and despite playing against a Tiny-Io combo they’ve been capable of impressive turnarounds and several comebacks, mainly due to great team fight positioning of Joakim 'Akke' Akterhall on his Bane.

A crucial fight took place around the 21st minute mark when Empire was almost wiped out in a brawl that they initiated but an inspired buyback from Ilya 'ALOHADANCE' Korobkin on Io, saved the day for Empire who took the first game of the series.

A totally different story was the second game of the series, where Alliance got completely crushed by the Russians. The game ended in only 17 minutes and Alliance got eliminated with 0 games won in the fourth season of Asus Rog Dream League LAN playoffs.

Day two marked OG’s debut at DreamHack Winter in Jönköping, Sweden. The Frankfurt Major Champions steamrolled over their opponents to secure the first spot into the best-of-five grand finals of Dream League season 4. Getting defeated in the upper bracket by OG, both Team Empire and 4Clovers & Lepricorn will have to face each other today in the best-of-five lower bracket finals. The winner will have another shot at taking OG down in the Grand Finals of the event.

Today’s DreamLeague Schedule:
14:00 CET - 4Clovers &Lepricorn vs Team Empire (bo5)
18:30 CET - OG vs TBD (bo5)
