The Defense 5: Team Liquid goes to Berlin

Team Liquid have qualified for The Defense #5's LAN finals in Berlin after finishing first in their group. Team Liquid finished one point ahead of joint second place teams, Vega and 4C&L.

The other three teams that will join Team Liquid at the LAN finals will be decided in the coming days; group A still has two unplayed matches and group B, the group Team Liquid won, requires a tie breaker for second place between Vega and 4Clovers & Lepricon. The first place team in group A will qualify for the LAN finals and the second place team in group A will battle against the second place team in group B for a spot in the LAN finals. The fourth team attending the LAN finals will be directly invited.

Group A has two more games to be finished, however, Virtus.Pro vs OG will have the greatest impact on the top two teams in the group and will decide the relevance of the second game. If OG beats VP 2-0, OG will gain two points, top the group and hence qualify for the LAN finals. If the game ends with a 1-1, OG will need to face Alliance in a tie breaker to decide the direct qualifier for the LAN finals. If VP wins 2-0, OG's position in the top two will not be secured as a 1-1 result in VP vs Empire will result in OG needing to play tie breakers and a 2-0 result will end with VP replacing them as second place team.
