10 TI teams to compete in MarsTV Dota 2 League tomorrow

In just a few short hours the LAN Finals for the MarsTV Dota 2 League will be getting underway.

The seeding for the single elimination round will be determined by means of a round robin: each team will face off against the others in their group through a series of best-of-one matchups. The top four teams in each group advance, whilst those who finish in last place are eliminated. The top finishers within each group will be rewarded with the opportunity to choose their first opponent of the single elimination round.

In light of having finished top two in the Chinese Qualifier of this year’s International, both EHOME and CDEC have managed to earn themselves last minute invitations to the finals of this tournament. Interestingly enough, this was the result of a collaborative effort mounted between MarsTV’s organizers and those of The International itself.

The competition is going to be stiff, to say the least. All ten of these participating teams are soon to be Seattle-bound for this year’s International. Of these ten, nine will be moving straight into the main event (leaving CDEC as MarsTV’s sole wildcard contestant). As such, this event should provide a fair indication of where teams are sitting right now in relation to this patch, in relation to themselves and - most importantly - in relation to each other.

Beginning tomorrow (Wednesday, June 3rd) at 4:30 PM CEST, the MarsTV Dota 2 League playoffs are set to clash with those of the MLG Championship, where the remaining (directly invited) International contestants will be squaring off; namely Team Malaysia, Evil Geniuses, and Virtus.Pro.
