Mouz withdraw from i-League #3 following visa issues

Citing Visa issues causing the team to need to play with a stand-in, Mouz has withdrawn from i-League Season 3. Their replacement will be either Invictus Gaming or Newbee.Young.

Mouz (ex-Team Tinker) has pulled out of the i-League Season 3 LAN finals in Shanghai, China. The reason for this withdrawal is the inability of Max 'Qojqva' Broecker to acquire a visa to China in time for the LAN. Mouz explained that without Qojqva at the LAN, the team would lose out on too much training time to prepare for The International 5 qualifiers if they took part in the tournament with a stand-in.

Statement from Philip Aram Mousesport manager:

'On behalf of the mousesports organization and our players, it is with deep regret that we must announce our withdrawal from I-League this coming week. I-League have worked endlessly to help assure our arrival amidst a chaotic tournament landscape. They have been willing to go to extreme lengths to make our participation possible, and we thank them for everything they have done.

We were not able to seek our visas until completion of the Redbull LAN qualifying because we would have needed them to travel to California. This left us with a tight window to secure the needed visas and, unfortunately, we were unable to secure Qojqva’s in adequate time. Given the nearness to TI qualifiers, we felt traveling and competing with a standin and having no practice time as a team in the week leading up was not an option.

Thank you again to Leiting and everyone at I-League for all of their work and support throughout. We truly wish we could have made it to such a fantastic event.'

The replacements for Mouz will be decided via a series between the third place finisher in group A and B of the Chinese qualifiers, Newbee.Yong and Invictus Gaming; the winner of this match will qualify for the LAN finals and face-up against Vici Gaming, the original intended opponent for Mouz. As of writing, although not definite, an i-League admin has stated that the game should take place on the 20th of May.

IG has a good track record against the less renowned Chinese teams like Newbee.Young, having taken down similar teams like Newbee.Miracle (2-1) and Dream Gaming (2-0).
