D2CL : Empire win second title in a row

Team Empire have come through once again, they beat Vici Gaming 3-0 to secure themselves the D2CL Title as well as $40,000.

DotA2 Champions League is now over, the second day also had a couple of upsets similar to the first one. The day started with an elimination game between Burden United and the Ninjas in Pyjamas where BU upset the Swedes to secure themselves third place out of the four teams. They played Vici Gaming in Loser Bracket Finals and lost 2-0 to the Chinese Heavyweights as expected.

Team Empire had been waiting for Vici Gaming with a game advantage in the Best-of-Five grand finals series. Even though VG lost to Empire yesterday, they were still favoured according to GosuBet (68%-32%). The Russian squad looked motivated as always and won two matches to secure themselves first place at the D2CL LAN.

The Russians have now beaten both the finalists of the Dota Asian Championships in Grand Finals at two LANs; VG here and Evil Genuises at the joinDotA MLG Pro League #1 LAN in Columbus. This patch also favours them since Silent.'s Gyrocopter and Resolut1ion's Beastmaster are top picks and these two are probably the best at them. The team has lost just one match so far on this patch, it'll be interesting to see what the future holds for them.
