It took all five games and a two hour epic for 4 Clover + Lepricon to secure qualification to the Esportal LAN finals after defeating 4 Anchors in the Open Qualifier 3 grand final.
4 Clover & Lepricon's debut has been a success as the roster has become the sixth team to secure their place in the Esportal LAN finals after a tense grand final over 4 Anchors + Sea Captain. It took all five games and an almost endless two hour battle to win the third game for Artur 'Goblak' Kostenko's new team to join HellRaisers, Team Empire, mYinsanity, Virtus Pro (ex-ASUS) and Ninjas in Pyjamas at the finals in Stockholm, Sweden.
4 Clover were able to narrowly defeat aSpera and Moscow Five in two 2-1 series to reach the grand final while 4 Anchors battled through Basically Unknown and Vega Squadron. The battle of 4 Anchors and 4 Clover raged on for over six hours with each team claiming a game each. The third game saw 4 Clover draft a lineup with Earthshaker, Troll Warlord and Zeus and after the 10 minute mark the team were always ahead. But the game dragged on. After the hour mark 4 Anchors seemed to slowly be bringing the game back into their hands but the advantage stayed in their opponents hands. After securing mega creeps 4 Clover slowly sieged their base to finally end the game in a giant team fight at two hours in.
The fourth game seemed it was going to be the third game in the series to reach an hour mark as it was 4 Anchors turn to exercise their dominance, but the game reached its conclusion at the 50 minute mark. 4 Clover + Lepricon went on to claim their place in the LAN finals and take the $2000 prize with a dominant 29 minute victory in the deciding game. 4 Anchors secure $1000 but drop out of another qualification attempt after losses in the second and third Invitational Qualifiers. They will surely have a final chance to qualify in the upcoming Invitational Qualifier 4, but will the Finnish team be able to replicate their performance?
