In the American Division of Starladder Season XII Void Boy and Wheel have advanced to the next phase, while paiN and eHug have been eliminated.
Starladder XII was announced recently with a base prize pool of $80,000 plus ticket sales, the American Division Phase I Qualifiers started a few days ago and all the matches of the first group are now over. The group stage consists of two groups with four teams in each group, the top two teams from either group will advance to the double elimination bracket to follow while the rest are eliminated.
Void Boy went on an unbeaten streak (3-0) and have made it to the next phase along with Wheel Whreck While Whistling who lost one game. paiN and eHug have been eliminated from the tournament. The next stage will be played at the end of the month.
Looking at the results, it seems that Void Boy is becoming the next big NA team having pulled multiple upsets in The Summit 3 qualifiers against teams with various professional Dota2 veterans. As for the eliminated teams, eHug are looking shakier and shakier by the day, their weak in this online qualifiers are a bad sign for their performance at the Major All Stars lan event.
The second group starts tonight where compLexity, NoT Today, Leviathan and Team Tinker will play. Team Tinker is one again making it tricky for tournament organisers as they seem to change the continent majority of their players the opposite directions of the regions they get assigned to play.
