Vega and NiP are the last 2 participants of Dota Pit League Season 3, which already boasts a prize pool of more than 150,000 USD. The tournament is scheduled to being on the 12th of February, only three days after the conclusion of the Dota 2 Asia Championship.
In a pool that featured known teams such as 4ASC, M5.int, NiP, coL and even the newly formed MeePwn’d, it was Vega Squadron who emerged victorious by taking the first place of the qualifier without losing a single series in the process. Vega started hot with a swift 2:0 victory over compLexity but 7ckngMad's Basically Unknown proved to be a much more challenging adversary that forced a 55' third game. Vega then face M5 fearlessly and went all-in on the last game of the winner bracket by picking a Tusk+Sven combo that caught their opponent off-guard and granted them their first appearance in a Dota 2 premier event.
On the other hand, Ninjas in Pyjamas had a rougher time than the uprising Russian team. They started by being kocked-down to the loser bracket in their very first match by M5, giving the Swedes absolutely no margin for error. They rose-up to the challenge and swept through 4ASC, mYi and Meepwn’d to reach the loser bracket final in which PGG’s squad was waiting. NiP came back from a 0:1 deficit to get their revenge amd become the last team joining the star-studded event.
