The Dota 2 League's bubble race will start on Monday, teams such as Virtus Pro.Polar and Team Tinker will be fighting for the final spot in the D2L lan finals in Vegas.
Taking place on the 15th of December will be the western bubble race for D2L. The winner of this bubble race will join LV Gaming, EG and CDEC in the lan finals taking place on the 5th and 6th of January in Las Vegas. The format for the bubble race is a single elimination best of three bracket, except for the finals which are best of 5. The current positions of the teams in the bracket relate back to their performance in the round robins played out in November. Virtus Pro.Polar are in the finals due to their second place round robin finish and Sneaky Nyx Assassins are in the semi finals as they were third.
Looking at the results of the round robin there seems to be no favorites in the Team Tinker vs Empire match. In their previous encounter in the round robins, Team Tinker won 2-1. Empire on the other hand, has one point more than Team Tinker in the round robins possibly due to a more stable performance.
Evil Geniuses finished first in the round robin and are thus directly qualified for the event in Las Vegas. CDEC was the directly qualified team of China whereas LV Gaming beat LGD in the bubble race finals for the second Eastern spot.
