ACE to ban Oldboys and Old Man from Chinese tournaments?

Today it has been reported that ACE will be holding a meeting to determine whether teams Oldboys and The Old Man will be allowed to participate in Chinese tournaments or not.

Several prominent Chinese players such as YYF, rOtk, Burning and many more have officially retired from competitive Dota 2 after Ti4, but have decided to still play around in supposedly fun rosters. The first one was Oldboys, a team that was able to make quite some noise and took 2nd place in the i-League tournament. The Old Man, consisting of the likes of Burning, rOtk and xiao8, has been formed rather recently.

It has now been leaked that ACE is considering banning both teams from professional Chinese tournaments, as the players' official status is retired. A meeting of ACE's higher-ups is set to decide whether or not these teams will be allowed to participate in tournaments any longer.

Interestingly enough, it was apparently due to the help of ACE that Oldboys was able to find a stand-in for YYF on short notice for the i-League LAN, which was none other than former Newbee player xiao8. It seems as if ACE itself is not sure on this issue, thus a meeting will decide on the matter. The meeting was supposed to be held today and a decision was set to be announced shortly after, but nothing has been made public just yet.

The Chinese community seems to be just as split about this issue as ACE, with many voices wondering why these players should not be allowed to play in a competitive environment anymore, with other voices reasoning that retired players should remain retired and leave the stage to the up and coming talent.
