A few weeks ago it was reported that Mag was dropped from the Empire roster. Despite the organization denying it, the team continued to play many of their official games without the Ukrainian. Today, the Russian organization announces Yoky as the official replacement.
In an interview during the EMC Lan event, Team Empire's midlaner Resolut1on stated that the team had dropped their offlaner Mag. The organization quickly released a statement afterwards, stating that Mag was not out of the team and it was simply a misunderstanding. Yet, the team proceeded to play most of their officials without the Ukrainian and instead relied on the help of SoNNeikO and Yoky. When the team was playing with SoNNeikO, Solo would rotate to the offlane. It didn't seem to work out and the team tried Yoky as a stand-in. The former HellRaisers midlaner has shown potential and has thus been signed by the Russian organization.
"From today all the responsibility for offlane role in our team goes on yoky-, who proved himself being a good and promising player in the competitive Dota. We wish him success in his new role and welcome in his new home", reads the statement by Empire's manager Sergei 'AnahRoniX' Bykovskiy.
Mag himself says that he had "problems that I need to solve and it requires some time. I decided to take a little break from the professional Dota." He discloses no information regarding his future yet.
