MPGL 2014 Grand Finals unveiled

The premier Filipino e-Sports organization, Mineski, has announced the Grand Finals for the sixth season of its professional gaming tournament, the MPGL. The tournament's prizepool is the highest ever for MPGL, with over $22,000 up for grabs.

The grueling ten-month tournament series of the Mineski Pro Gaming League (MPGL) have come to an end, and the very best teams of Southeast Asia will face off at the MPGL's Grand Finals. The event is set to be held from 29th through 30th of November at the SM City North EDSA Skydome, for the largest-ever prize pool in Philippine DotA 2 history.

The best teams from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and the Philippines will face off against each other, as well as against teams from the open qualifiers held in Australia, India, Japan, and South Korea, all for the P1,000,000+ ($22,200+) prize pool.

MPGL's last season saw Mineski defeat the Southeast Asian Titans in a 2-0 victory, claiming the $5,000 grand prize.

Ticket sales from the in-game DotaTV ticket, paypal donations, sales from the Secretshop.ph online store, as well as revenue from Mineski Infinity Cybercafe promos will all contribute to increase the base prize pool of P1,000,000.

Apart from the DotA 2 tournament itself, the MPGL Grand Finals are also known for having other activities for the audience, as well as the players themselves, to take part in. The tournament's earnings last year also made their way to the victims of Hurricane Haiyan (or typhoon Yolanda, as it came to be known in the Philippines).

More details about the participating teams, as well as about the schedule, activities, and events related to the tournament will be revealed soon.
