StarLadder China begins on 9th September

SLTV announced the commencement of the Chinese division of StarLadder Season 10 qualifiers. Two Chinese teams get to travel to Kiev, Ukraine to battle against the best teams from around the world.

With qualifiers for all other regions(SEA, Europe and America) having already kicked off, the last to join is the Chinese division. SLTV announced that the Chinese qualifiers will begin on the 9th of September and run till the 24th. The format of the qualifier will be the same as last time i.e. round robin followed by double elimination. Eight invited teams will play Best-of-1's against each other after which the top four teams will play Best-of-3's in a double elimination format. The two finalists will get the opportunity to travel to Kiev to participate in the LAN finals with other qualified teams.

There are no big surprises in the teams invited for the qualifiers, with none of the power houses missing. A relatively unknown team Lai Gaming has been invited which has XTT,who earlier played for HGT, and xdd. and Super from DT.NGC. A notable missing team is DK, winners of SL-IX, who have not been invited since their entire roster departed the team due to retirements and transfers. Chinese teams have undergone radical changes in their rosters recently in the aftermath of TI4, and this will be another opportunity for them to test and showcase themselves.

The two qualified teams will join 6 others teams (4 from Europe, 1 from SEA and 1 from America) in the LAN playoffs at Cyberarena in Kiev, Ukraine from October 23rd to 26th. SL-X has a starting prize pool of $80,000 and fans can contribute to the fund by purchasing the in-game tickets released on the Dota Store. $2.50 of each purchase goes directly into the prize pool.
