V Games finish group stage, second half of playoffs starting today

V Games has now completed its group stage, and it will transition today with the second half of its single-elimination playoffs. LGD failed to make it to the playoffs as they were surprisingly eliminated by Speed Gaming.

There was little surprise that DK topped Group C after defeating both TongFu.WZ and DT. The latter two had a hot contest to decide who will go through the playoffs, and it was TF who made it after defeating their enemy.

Group D had shocking results, to say the least, as Speed Gaming topped their group. This group has two The International 4 bound teams in Vici Gaming and LGD, and Speed won over both of them. Prior to this, the team had placed just eight place during the TI4 CN qualifiers after finishing with a 3-6 record.

VG also scored a win against LGD, which makes the latter team bidding an early goodbye. The bottom half of the playoffs will stat today, with a match-up between DK and VG at 08:00 CEST (14:00 SGT). Following it will be the match of Speed Gaming and TongFu.WZ at 12:00 CEST (18:00 SGT). Both series will be best-of-three.

V Games is a tournament which aims to be the filler between WPC and The International. 12 teams were divided into four groups, with the top two teams per group advancing into the playoffs.  The first half of the groups was held more than two weeks ago, and they also already played out the upper half of the playoffs.
