Qualifier of Good Play Invitational starting today, three teams replaced

The four-team qualifier of the $6,200~ Good Play SEA Invitational will start today. The three previously included teams in Rex Regum Qeon, First Departure and Execration were replaced by MVP.Phoenix, Zero Latitude and Click And Search.

Good Play SEA Invitational has recently invited ten teams to participate on its tournament, with six going directly into the league stage and the other four battling it out for  two qualifier slots. While the format holds, three qualifier teams were replaced after the team or its roster broke up.

Execration, First Departure and Rex Regum Qeon, originally qualifier-bound teams, had unfortunate developments within their team the past week. They will be replaced by an equal number of teams to fill out the qualifier slots. The first to enter is TI4 SEA Qualifier runner-up, Korean-team MVP. The next team to be added is Indonesian-team Zero Latitude, and the last one is Filipino-team Click and Search (known before as Execration 2). Out of the four teams in the qualifier, only Invasion remains as an originally-invited team.

The three-day qualifier stage will start today, with two matches scheduled. First up is Invasion versus Zero Latitude at 14:00 CET (20:00 SGT), followed by Click and Search against MVP at 16:00 CET (22:00 SGT). The qualifier will follow a best-of-one, double-elimination format, with the top two teams advancing into the league stage.

The league stage will feature the two qualifying teams plus six other directly invited teams. They will play a best-of-two single round-robin across three weeks, and the top four teams from this stage will advance into the last phase.

The final elimination stage is basically the semifinals of the tournament. The top four teams will be competing against each other in a double-elimination tournament to determine the champion. All games in the final elimination stage are best-of-three, except for the finals which is best-of-five.

The 20,000 RM ($6,200~) prize pool, so far the biggest for SEA tournaments this year, will be divided among the top four finishers. The champion will receive half of it, which is 10,000 RM ($3,100~). The second, third and fourth placer will get 5,000 RM ($1,550~), 3,000 RM ($930~) and 2,000 RM ($620~) respectively.

BeyondTheSummit will be providing the English cast for this event. There games will also be cast in Vietnamese, Thai and Chinese. Fans can follow the tournament via DotaTV by purchasing the in-game ticket, valued $0.99, at the Dota 2 store.
