iG and LGD, two of China's most prominent Dota teams, will be facing each other in the finals of the ESL One Chinese qualifier this coming 13 May. The winner of that best-of-five match will be one of two Asian teams competing in the LAN finals of ESL One to be held in Frankfurt, Germany scheduled late June.
LGD is the first one to advance into the finals after defeating DT 2-1. Both teams went into this game in high spirits, with the former eliminating NewBee and the latter knocking out team DK out of this competition. But while DT managed to take the first game behind a dominant middle-game, LGD bounced back by winning the final two matches to take this series.
Invictus Gaming joins the finals after getting a win of their own, a surprisingly easy dispatch of felllow The International 4 invited team Vici Gaming. While iG went Wraith King in both games, VG went with even less used carries of this version in a Gyrocopter and an Anti-Mage. They were punished for it with the strong early-middle game composition of their enemy, losing both games before the 38-minute mark.
The finals is a best-of-five affair scheduled this 13 May, with the winner advancing into the LAN finals of ESL One to be held in Frankfurt, Germany. The losing team will be joining the third-place team of this qualifier, which will either be DT or VG, and six other Southeast-Asian teams in another qualifier for the final slot alotted for an Asian team.
Those advancing Asian teams will be joining six other teams in the at least $150,000 grand finals scheduled 28-29 June at the Commerzbank Arena. Joining them are Alliance, Natus Vincere, Team Dog, Fnatic, Evil Geniuses and one other European team.
