MSI Beat It GosuCup Asia: Arrow defeats New Element to proceed into grand finals

The third day of the MSI Beat It GosuCup begins with New Element taking on Titan for a place in the lower bracket final, where they will await the the loser of the match between Arrow Gaming and Scythe.

The third day of of the MSI Beat It GosuCup starts with Malaysian powerhouse Titan going up against the only Chinese representative, New Element, in a best-of-one elimination match. One team will move on to face the loser of the best-of-three match between Arrow Gaming and Scythe for the chance to compete for a place in the grand final of the cup while the other team will go home.

Game 1: Titan Vs New Element

Game one of this best-of-one elimination match in the lower bracket saw Titan relying upon the damage of Shadow Fiend and Ember Spirit as well as the lockdowns from the Crystal Maiden and Rubick to secure their lanes. New Element responded with the deadly ganking combo from Axe, Centaur and Lifestealer along with the pushing potential from the Invoker. First blood came to Titan as a two man smoke gank by Rubick and Crystal Maiden into the Radiant jungle caught out the Ancient Apparition with Dark Seer taking the last hit.

The durability and initiation potential of New Element's lineup became an issue for Titan in team fights as an attempted dive on the Centaur in the Radiant tier one middle tower resulted in both the Crystal Maiden and Dark Seer taking a fall without anyone from New Element dying. A fast Blink Dagger pickup by the Axe then caught the Ember Spirit and Rubick on the Dire tier one middle tower off guard, resulting in two more deaths to the scoreboard. Titan managed to secure the Aegis for the Shadow Fiend before taking out the Centaur, Invoker and Ancient Apparition for the price of the Rubick and Dark Seer.

Despite the Aegis pickup, Titan found it difficult to split push the lanes as the combination of the Axe and Centaur as well as the Lifestealer bomb, Sunstrikes and Ice Blasts blew up the Shadow Fiend before he was able to escape. New Element then proceeded to mow down the bottom tower and barracks as the pushing power coming from the Forged Spirits and Necro units from the Invoker along with the lockdown power of Centaur and Axe prevented any of Titan's heroes from defending their barracks. Despite the odds, Titan successfully defended their middle barracks as four heroes from New Element fell to Ember Spirit. However this was only a temporary relief as the third Roshan fell to New Element. With an Aegis on the Lifestealer and the Cheese on the Invoker, New Element pushed in for one final blow resulting in Titan being wiped off the map before calling the gg.

With this win, New Element moves on in the tournament to face off against Arrow Gaming in the loser bracket final while Titan has been eliminated from the tournament.

Game 1: Arrow Gaming Vs New Element

Game one of this best-of-three eliminiation match sees the return of two heroes often banned in the drafting stages with Arrow Gaming picking up the Doom while New Element snatch up the dreaded Lycan. Arrow Gaming opted to run an aggressive tri lane with Bristleback, Witch Doctor and Rubick whereas New Element ran the Lycan along with an Undying and Shadow Shaman. Control of the bottom lane swung in favour of Arrow Gaming as Lycan was completely locked out of the lane and unable to keep up with the last hits from the Bristleback.

First blood came the way to Arrow Gaming as the initiation from Rubick and Witch Doctor's Casks combined with the constant Quill Spray harassment allowed Bristleback to claim the bonus gold and experience. New Element responded with Outworld Devourer taking out the Invoker in the middle lane with assistance from the Nyx Assassin. Both teams traded heroes with a four man gank killing of the Undying near his tier one tower in the bottom lane while Bristleback dove near the tier two tower and gave away his life for the price of a support Shadow Shaman.

The first major team fight occured around the Dire tier one middle tower with New Element losing three of their heroes in an attempt to gank the Invoker. With a Blink Dagger on Doom, none of New Element's heroes were safe and they were forced to play from behind closed doors. Lycan was then caught out in no mans land, pursued by the entire team of Arrow Gaming as he was forced to pop his ultimate and run towards the Radiant secret shop on the bottom lane before being cleaned up. Gg was called at the 19 minute mark as New Element could not find any counter to the Doom or help Lycan secure his farm.

Game 2: Arrow Gaming Vs New Element

With one game away from leaving the tournament, New Element decided to adjust their draft, picking up the Slark for the middle lane while opting for a safe lane Centaur. Arrow Gaming kept both the Invoker and Rubick whilst adding a Disruptor and Faceless Void to fill the ranks. Unlike the first game, both teams decided to run a passive farming game in the early stages of the match. First blood came once again to Arrow Gaming as Rubick lifted up the Centaur for the Nyx Assassin to burn away enough mana and life points to secure the kill. New Element responded by running a three man gank on the disruptor as soon as the Faceless Void went into the jungle to farm.

An attempted gank on the Invoker cost New Element dearly with Slark, Nature's Prophet and Sand King all going down to a well placed Chronosphere allowing Invoker and Faceless Void to quickly finish them off before bringing down the tier one middle tower. With towers falling left and right for New Element, Arrow Gaming quickly took control of the dire's side of the map forcing New Element on the defensive. Despite picking up his Blink Dagger, Centaur kept getting caught out whilst giving away his ultimate three times to the Rubick, allowing for Arrow Gaming to turn the tables and round up the heroes of New Element one by one.

Another fast gg was called by New Element as four heroes fell near the Dire tier two middle tower with Centaur being caught out by the Nyx and stampeded upon by his own ultimate whilst Sand King was glimpsed back to his death.

With this victory, Arrow Gaming has moved onto the grand finals of the GosuCup to take on Scythe while New Element will depart from the tournament.
