Fy: If you believe in yourself you would not mind the opinion of others.

Sgamers managed to reach out to Fy for an interview. Fy talks about his current situation after the New Year's holiday, the current situation at Vici Gaming and the volatile Dota 2 competitive scene in China.

This interview was initially conducted in Chinese. For your convenience GosuGamers has translated the interview into English. Linsen "Fy" Xu is a skilled support player who has been a crucial part of VG's many victories. Fy is proficient with difficult heroes such as Rubick and Shadow Demon. In this interview Fy describes his thoughts on the team and the Chinese Dota 2 competitive scene as a whole.

Thank you VG.Fy for accepting our interview, could you introduce yourself to everyone?

Hello everyone, I am Fy of Vici Gaming.

Did you return to your teamhouse? How was the holiday? Did you fight the Year Beast with your friends during Chinese New Year?

I am currently back in the teamhouse, although the internet here had crashed. The holiday is peaceful, I spent everyday going on the internet and sleeping. The Year Beast was too difficult to fight and it does not suit me...

Firstly, lets look back at the events that happened last year. You and your team experienced ups and downs. In your opinion, what was the most memorable event last year? Was it winning EMS One?

Yes it is, leaving China for the first time and winning an international tournament is a memorable experience.

It seems that after the win at EMS, the team's performance had been decreasing, causing your team to lose many championships. Was the lull in performance due to a more relaxed atmosphere? Or was there a problem in strategy?

After winning a lot of games, other teams were familiar with our strategy. Our ability to adapt to other game plans became worse thus our performance was not up to par.

After the new year, there is an upcoming tournament. The first tournament is Sina Cup Season 3. As the defending champion, is your current goal is to retain the championship spot?

Of course. However, we are not very familiar with other teams, therefore the matches will be more exciting this time around.

Currently, teams are being reshuffled with the number one MMR "Maybe" joining LGD. You also entered the scene from your high MMR, so what is your opinion on Maybe's entrance into the scene?

Maybe is a very skilled player, joining the scene is the correct choice for him. I hope his journey will become better and better.

As a newcomer into the Dota competitive scene, you experienced a lot of pressure at the start. Do you have any changes to your mindset after being in the competitive scene?

My mindset did not change. If you believe in yourself you do not mind the opinion of others.

At the moment the Dota scene does need some new blood. Do you have any advice for aspiring Dota 2 players willing to join the competitive scene?

There must be support from parents and one must believe that ones skill is better or on par with the players currently in the scene.

Everyone knows that your signature hero is Rubick, who is also the signature hero of Na'Vi.Kuroky. Who do you think utilizes the hero better, you or him?

Kuroky is highly skilled at Rubick and knows many tricks that I could learn. However, I am doing my best to improve.

A workshop artist made him a cosmetic set, have you thought of finding a workshop artist to make a set for you? Or a set for any other hero?

It is currently being worked on and should be revealed soon.

Thanks against for accepting our interview, do you have any last shoutouts?

Thanks for everyone’s support. I hope everyone could continue supporting me and VG and I hope that 2014 will be a smooth year for everyone. Shout out to my sponsors Tenwow, Dare-u and Kan Sina.
