Free to Play documentary release date announced

Valve announced the release date of the Free to Play documentary, a movie that has portrayed the gaming lives of three professional Dota 2 players. The movie will be available for free on Steam on March 19, and a bundle of Dota 2 items related to the movie will be sold on the Dota 2 store.

The Free to Play documentary had been in development for quite some time, and the anticipation was quite high since its official announcement almost two years ago. The lucky visitors of The International 3 had the chance to watch the documentary on the screen of Benaroya Hall, but the contents of the movie still remain a mystery for the people that did not manage to travel to Seattle.

The movie is about three of the most famous Dota2 players, their lives and the problems they had to face until they managed to achieve success in professional gaming. The protagonists are Daniil 'Dendi' Ishutin, the mid player of Na'Vi, Clinton 'Fear' Loomis who plays the first position for SADBOYS and Benedict 'Hyhy' Lim, the former Zenith player that switched to League of Legends.

The movie will be free to watch on March 19, and the Steam users will be able to download it through the Steam Client. Valve will also release a bundle of DotA2 items, including three signature sets of the three players in the movie, a set of wards, a courier and a HUD. The bundle is sold seperately and one does not have to purchase it to watch the movie.

Additionally, you can also attend the premiere of Free To Play on March 18th at 8:00 PM at The Castro Theatre in San Francisco, CA. Tickets will be available at Eventbrite. Following the premiere, there will also be a live Q&A with the creators and special guests. You can find more information about the documentary on its official site.
