Alliance is undefeated in D2L West and has secured their spot for D2L main event. Mousesports and Team Dignitas are out of the race. The second to fifth placer will be fighting for seeds.
With the game between Natus Vincere and Virtus Pro settled yesterday evening, the top five of the D2L western groupstage are decided. Mousesports and the recently disbanded Team Dignitas will not be competing further for their D2L main event spot.
Prior to their trip to South Korea, Alliance played all their matches in the groupstage and came out undefeated. This means Alliance have guaranteed themselves a trip to Las Vegas to compete in the main event alongside the first placer of the eastern group, LGD.cn.
The three remaining games set to be played tonight are of known relevance to the pre-playoffs except for the seeding in which the second to fifth placers will be subjected to. Natus Vincere is currently uncomfortably placed second in the standings with Team Liquid and Fnatic trailing behind them. Team Liquid only needs to win one match today to overtake Na`Vi in the standings while Fnatic will have to win both to be placed second.
Assuming Team Liquid wins both their matches today, Na`Vi will be placed third in the standings while Fnatic settles for fourth. Fnatic is more or less out of the race for second if they drop their match against Liquid.
Virtus.Pro and Evil Geniuses are also hot in competition for the fifth seed of the groupstage. Evil Geniuses will have to win their game against Fnatic today to overtake the Russians in "games won". You can head over to D2L's website for more information regarding the tiebreak system.
