ESL has released its plans surrounding the qualification process for their Korean contestants. The finals of the Nexon Sponsorship League decide who gets to go Poland later this year.
Raidcall EMS One spreads its wings further, as details regarding the participation of Korean teams come to the fore. According to ESL officials, the winner of the Nexon Sponsorship League will be invited to join the six already qualified European teams in Poland for the LAN finals.
The two remaining teams, fOu and StarTale, will play the final match of the NSL Season 1 this Saturday, November 9, not only to decide who gets the ~$93,000 grand prize, but also who checks their ticket to go to Europe as the first Korean Dota 2 team in history. fOu, currently with the upper hand after beating StarTale 2-0 in the winners bracket final, will have to fend off their toughest competitor in the tournament, which has retained their second chance due to a victory in the losers bracket against MVP.
While the other two semi-finalists, MVP and UnderRateds, were already paired with European teams in the Nexon Super Match series, both finalists will be tested by international teams in the coming two weeks.
A big question mark remains to be the inclusion of a North American team, as EMS One NA winners Take 5 have disbanded since their victory over EG, while the latter's participation is still up in the air. In a similar vein, details for the format of the LAN events are still withstanding, as the results of a Chinese qualifier are heavily anticipated.
