Take Five qualifies for EMS One after defeating EG in a five game thriller

"Are you ready for this?" is what Jimmy 'Demon' Ho, former Evil Geniuses player, tweeted in the hours leading up to the grand final of EMS One American qualifier. Alongside the tweet is a picture of Ho himself wearing an Evil Geniuses shirt flexing his muscle, taunting his former team in a joking manner.

Take Five came into the grand final strong, taking the first two games in the best-of-five series with Jerry 'EGM' Lundkvist from The Alliance standing-in for the team. EG then bounced back in game three and four to tie the series at 2-2 before Take Five opted for a three core line-up to edge over EG in game five. As the smoke clears, Take Five successfully took down the heavy favourites to win the qualifier and will be heading to EMS One Fall offline playoffs later this month.

The LAN trip aside, the win at EMS One American qualifier is especially memorable for Ho. According to Ho, he was removed from the team in July because of his work ethics and lack of focus during training and official games. Sporting the #egthrow hashtag, Ho was an extremely inconsistent player and would sometimes give their opponents free wins through silly mistakes. In a Twitch session two days ago, Ho revealed the full story about his stint with EG and and his plans to become more motivated now that he is off the team.

Qualified teams for EMS One offline playoffs:

Ukraine Natus Vincere
Europe Fnatic
United States Take Five
