GEST September kicks off without defending champions

This Monday, the final GEST of this year will kick off with some of the most notable names of the SEA scene. Winners of July edition, AMD Mineski, failed to qualify and will not be able to defend their title.

GEST September will last for a total of 5 days (30th Sept - 4th Oct) with a $1,000 plus gaming gears for the champion and $500 plus gaming gears for the runner-up. 16 teams will compete in Best-o-3 single-elimination matches and a Best-o-5 Grand Final to determine the winner. Unlike other editions of GEST, this final one is a straight up single elimination bracket from the get go to the finish line.

For the first time in GEST history, Mineski is not among the teams competing for the $1,000 first place as they failed the GMPGL qualifiers. However, this time all eyes will undoubtedly be on the new Malaysian squad of Team Titans. They have not had the best start that a new team could hope for, but with their talent and experience, anything can happen. Another notable team is the only Aussie squad of the tournament, SYF Gaming. It will be very interesting to see how they will fare against the SEA teams.
