The first day of TI3 had come to an end with teams moving forward and teams dropping out of the competition. Let us take a look back at what happened during Day 1.
Upper bracket
No Valve time in the opening ceremony of The International today as the tournament got underway on time. The day started out with Na`Vi versus NeoES.Orange and everybody was shocked and appaled when the Malaysian underdogs defeated Na`Vi in game one. However, Na`Vi got their pants together and pulled off landslides in the next two games, advancing them into the WB semis.
Fnatic versus TongFu on the other hand, was rather one-sided. TongFu was able to outmaneuver Fnatic in multiple occassions leading the Chinese team to build up a substantial farm in both games. Eventually, Fnatic lost two straight games and was pushed down to the lower bracket.
Na`Vi and TongFu are guaranteed at least a sixth place finish in The International 3.
Lower bracket
Orange and Fnatic, the two upper bracket losers really showed why they do not deserve to be here by defeating Team Dignitas and LGD.Int respectively. Orange and Fnatic are now guaranteed an eight place finish and will have the day off tomorrow.

To top off such a great day, Valve had for us an allstars tournament that had many funny moments and also trash talk between players. The shenanigans happened right before the game began as ChuaN was caught running over to the opponents booth claiming he is Puppey. It ended up as a reverse draft mode and Allstars A team composed of Akke, Mushi, Burning, Ferrari_430, and Puppey won. Here are some screenshots of the chats from the game.
