The bracket for the Aegis Cup, the final cup of The Premier League, has been released and this is the final chance for Virtus.Pro to make a final sprint for the playoffs.
The Aegis Cup will begin on the 17th of July at 14:00 CEST with Fnatic versus Quantic followed by Mousesports versus Alliance at 15:00. All the games will be played in a best-of-one format bar the grand final which will be in best-of-three.
David 'Blaze' Dillon will stream all the games on The Premier League Twitch channel.
Alliance is currently at the top of the standings at 350 points despite forfeiting the first and sixth cup of The Premier League. The Swedes are mathematically the number one seed for the playoffs even if they do not participate in the Aegis Cup.
Evil Geniuses on the other hand, are at second after finishing first in the first cup and winning third place in several cups after that. Mousesports and Fnatic are currently tied for fourth place while Virtus.Pro is trailing at fifth place, just 30 points short for the third and fourth placers.
At the conclusion of the Daedalus Cup last week, three teams namely Kaipi, Quantic Gaming, and RoX.KIS lost their chance to fend for themselves in the playoffs after receiving minimal points for their early exit. Out of the three teams mentioned, only RoX.KIS received points for finishing fourth although they have failed to get into the semis any in the five cups prior to Daedalus.
