No upset happened as the first day of group D came to a conclusion. Mousesports grabbed the first ticket to the play-offs without dropping a single game, convincingly defeated Keita and Empire to finish group stage in first place.
Mouz and Empire did not disappoint as they are the favorites to top this group. Both team looked strong, especially Empire who forced a 12-minute "gg" from Flipsid3 in game 1 of their bo3 despite having to play with two stand-ins. Expectations was high for the Winners Bracket Finals and rightfully so.
The Russian squad was all about being aggressive and taking kills early on, while the German team showcased a more discipline and calculated play style. In the end, it was Mousesports who came out as the better team after an explosive ending, taking down Empire in two straight games and the first place of group D. The ending of game 2 was especially hectic where neither casters nor players had a proper idea about what was going on while racing each other's bases.
The remaining play-off slot will be determined tomorrow when Empire goes up against the winner of Keita vs Flipsid3 to fight for the second place of group D and the last ticket to the play-offs of Corsair Cup.
