ESL One Birmingham 2024: Group stage team and hero statistics

With the group stage for ESL One Birmingham 2024 complete, we take a look at the team and hero statistics for the 12 teams that were involved.

After a small hiatus, Dota 2 LANs are back and ESL One Birmingham 2024 is firing on all cylinders. The tournament, featuring 12 teams, is a quick one week affair with three days of group stage games and four days of playoffs.

The group stage is always more exciting when elimination is on the line, which was the case here. Two groups of six teams each played in the round robin format, and four teams were eliminated at the end. Surprisingly, the two TI12 finalists, Team Spirit and Gaimin Gladiators were two of them.

After a plethora of tiebreakers, four teams advanced to the upper bracket while four others had to settle for the lower bracket. As the teams prepare themselves for the playoff games starting right the next day, let’s take a look at the team and hero statistics for the group stage games of ESL One Birmingham 2024. All data has been taken from datDota.

The meta continues to be the same as what it was for Elite League, but there are some new heroes seen in the games. Teams are constantly trying to find new ways to outsmart opponents, which keeps shaking up the meta a little from tournament to tournament. This time around, Enchantress and Luna are the heroes to be a little weary of. Both of them are in the most picked heroes, and they are also the two with the highest win rates in heroes with more than 15 picks.

Besides Team Spirit and Gaimin Gladiators being eliminated in the group stage, there were no major surprises. OG taking top spot in Group B is possibly a slight surprise, but their true test will come in the playoffs. Team Falcons may have lost to Xtreme Gaming in the grand final of Elite League, but it is a different ball game all together at a LAN event. The remaining seven teams will have their work cut out for them to take the MENA team out of the competition.
