It's the holy grail of The International 3 coverage!

Most picked

Weaver - Not really a surprise pick but definitely a surprise to see it on second highest pick. Weaver is a common pick by many Western and Eastern teams and is used in a varied way. Some teams such as Zenith love to run it on the safe-lane as the main carry while some prefer running it in the middle lane or off-lane. The survivability of Weaver makes it very hard and costly for its opponents to kill it.

Visage - Visage's ability to dish out high burst damage earned him the title of one of the strongest tri-lane supports. Banned 40 times and only missed in 7 games throughout the entire groupstage, Visage has statistically proven itself to be a very troublesome hero to deal with and moreover proven to be one of the top favorite supports of The International 3 groupstage.

Dragon Knight - Looking at the graph below, Dragon Knight is the first top pick to suffer more losses than wins. Although the hero is rock hard and is able to dish out AOE right clicks, Dragon Knight often has trouble stopping opponents' push early on, a strat that seems to be quite the trend of the tournament.

Most banned and most contested

Io - The most-hated hero of The International 3. Io has been picked up 16 times so far in the tournament and banned a whopping 81 times despite the slump the Chaos Knight - Io combo has been having. Io had definitely found a new partner in crime at The International 3: Ursa as we had seen them together a couple of times already. We probably need to see more Io games to judge of this new combo's effectiveness.

Outworld Devourer - The annoying black bird is a close contender in the most banned list, raking up 80 bans in 112 games while being picked up 29 times. OD is also second in most contested hero, just 2 games short of Batrider's 100% action.

Win rates (for heroes picked > 10 times)

Earthshaker - When in doubt, pick Earthshaker. Well, not really. Although Earthshaker is currently topping the list, Earthshaker was only picked up twelve times and won eight of them. Earthshaker is a high risk high reward hero that on a good day, is able to land crucial stuns in important clashes and also mess-up entire team synergy, especially when teams adopt the currently popular early pushing strategy.

Chen -  Chen's stats are probably more accurate in comparison to Earthshaker's considering the former hero was picked a total of 43 games (more than Earthshaker), winning a total of 28 and losing 15. The Chen pick is almost always rewarding as the latter provides support to the safe-lane carry and pushing capabilities threatening the tier-one towers especially when the off-laner goes into the jungle.
