GosuGamers is pleased to announce that we are the official coverage partner of the next season of the Pick League and Dota Masters tournament, hosted by Dota-League.com
Dota-League has evolved from being just a SIG website to a known place for any type of games. Let it be leagues, tournaments or SIG's. Dota-League has been continiously working on improving their website and organisation. It has become a real community therefor I can say that GosuGamers is very excited that we can contribute to this community.
GosuGamers will provide news, replays, Gosubets and will also start shoutcasting for Dota-League. The shoutcasting will be done by myself ( Dominique "Domi" Vanhove) which I ofcourse am very excited about as I have not been able to shoutcast for quite a while!
We also caught up with Moritz "Moose" Zimmermann who is the Lead Designer for Dota-League. (Click the spoiler button for the interview)
Hi, could you first and for all tell us a bit more about yourself?
Hey Domi, my name is Moritz "Moose" Zimmermann, from Muelheim an der Ruhr, Germany and I am mainly the lead designer at Dota-League. I am 26 years old and I completely suck at playing DotA!! I believe only someone with a decent working brain can be good at it! ;) But I do love playing it when there are enemies that give me a slight chance to not be killed every
2 minutes.
What are you doing exactly with D-L currently?
Apart from the design and graphics I take care of a lot of other stuff to improve the site, such as news writing, doing some PR work, taking care of sponsors and staying in touch with a large group of the guys in the DotA scene.
Why did you choose to work with GosuGamers?
We chose to work with GosuGamers mainly because I think it is vital that the communites work together to improve the quality of DotA coverage. It´s becoming such a mass of users being interested who want to know everything about their favourite players and clans. And of course need something for their eyes and ears – shoutcasts.
When GosuGamers offered us to do coverage about the Pick League and Dota Masters, we couldn´t resist of course, since they are very well known for making great and high quality coverage about games.
Currently D-L is maybe known the most for SIG. Is there anything that will change soon about SIG? Like new modes, removing older modes, resetting points and such?
Come on, we are not only known for SIG! ;) At this stage we don´t have plans to change the SIG. It´s working quite well at the moment but always needs improvement here and there. Of course we will do some changes but not major ones. Having DC for example is a great help. Of course there will always be clever hackers to try to get around it but DC will follow and overall it will lower the numbers of cheaters immensely! Such things help us greatly to improve the games here. About the points I don´t want to say anything yet. But it might be done at some point in the future to give new people
a greater chance to play their way up.
Next to SIG D-L also organises the Pick Leagues which MYM won this season. And DotA Masters. Are these the projects that D-L wants to push the most atm?
We focused on SIG a long time ago and put our efforts into the league system later. Now that the interest for league games is growing vastly, we are doing our best to work a fresh and way more advanced league system at the moment. After all, we are not called Dota-SIG but Dota-League. And that is our focus for 2008 ;) And yes, we will have a very nice Dota Masters coming up with awesome changes and more winning possibilities!
When exactly will the Pickleague and DotA Masters' new seasons begin?
The next Pick League will start quite soon. We still have to put all the new teams into all the divisions but that shouldn´t take long. The new DotA Masters we are still finalizing and we already have a default date for it but we don´t want to make it official yet. Let´s say it´s not too long. J
GosuGamers wisesh you the best of luck!
Thanks for the interview and we wish you the best as well and hope for a great time with GosuGamers in the future.
