The famous DotA tournament MYM-Prime Defending decided to go oldschool and play in a all-or-nothing single elimination, best of one mode!

Unlike most big tournaments nowadays, the biggest DotA tournament in the world decided not to let the 56 remaining contestants play in a group stage with a lot of games, but to put them face to face in a preliminary playoff to determine the 16 best teams.

This format was previously used in the MYM PriDe #4 and several other tournaments and has its advantages and disadvantages. The most outstanding benefits are surely the shorter amount of time and the higher intensity in the games since a team has only one chance to stay in the battle.
