Review of the American DotA-Scene

PinkPriestess and DarkFire_ reviewed the American DotA-Scene and it's downfall. Although Americans were very top notched in DotA they could not catch up with other countries because of the difference in cultures.

Once upon a time the American DotA scene was the best in the world. We all know teams like Plug (compLexity), Apex (JaX Money Crew), ADA (Team Pandemic) and WaC (verGe/eMazing Gaming) and how famous and high skilled they were. But after a while all these teams disappeared or lacked activity.

PinkPriestess and DarkFire_ from GotFrag.com reviewed the downfall of the American DotA-Scene. With a lot of statements of the American players and many plausible explanations they see along the downfall.

Amongst others Pu "Whisper" Liu from team eMazing Gaming explained the big difference between America and par example Europe:
"American DotA hasn't kept up with the rest of the world partially because of the difference in cultures." Americans keep their gaming habits more hidden unlike Europeans who embrace a gaming lifestyle. "Hardcore gaming is still a social stigma in the United States while it is more embraced in Europe and especially in Asia. While you will rarely see European players use "real life>DotA" as an excuse for poor play or inactivity, most Americans use it all the time."
