CGESA to kick off - MYM, SK and x6 favorites

Cyber Globe E-Sports Association's long awaited tournament is getting closer. The groups have been announced, and among all the 95 teams, we see three teams that are worth taking a closer look at.

95 (!) teams makes this one of the biggest online DotA tournaments around. Smacked with mostly American-based teams, there are also a whole bunch of Latin American teams as well. But teams that are most interesting are of course the well-known, and looking through the list there aren't too many superstar teams. However, out of the list, we found five teams that caught our edgy interest.

MeetYourMakers
MeetYourMakers hardly need any introduction. Title holders of DreamHack, the biggest DotA offline tournaments and one of the many squads in the well known multi-gaming community. Considered one of the absolute best teams in the world, and they have the trophies to back up that statement. They won the MYM Prime Defending 5, second place in The Frozen League, and ending Top 2 twice in the DreamHack DotA tournament. Having the superstar Merlini in their lineup plus the experienced leader Maelk are two strong cards that makes MYM a top contender in this league.

SK DotA
If MeetYourMakers is Chelsea, then SK-Gaming is without a doubt Manchester United. The two rivals have gone at it numerous times, and latest we saw the two play in the Grand Final of The Frozen League. SK-Gaming proved what they were worth and could take down MeetYourMakers in an astonishing final. Previously known as Team_Team before the giant Schroet Kommando picked up the powerhouse team. There is no other team with such a good team spirit and communication, and they have a set of trophies as well, just as MYM. Winning Prime Defending 6, ending second this summer's DreamHack and winning the winter event (though under the MYM name). The team has also won the ESL's Premier League DotA playoff. The Manchester United of DotA looks to be the main rival for MeetYourMakers - again.

Check-Six DotA
Not as super strong favorite as MeetYourMakers or SK-Gaming are, but after a third place in The Frozen League Check-Six has proven their value in the DotA scene. The team has a long history, and has undergone some changes. After The Frozen League, Yoda left the team and left it for JollyJoker to lead the squad forward. With a new lineup for the upcoming season Check-Six looks very interesting, and can be one of the teams to -throw a spanner in the works for MYM and SK.

These three are the most important ones that will surely advance from the group stage and enter the playoffs and if things go as expected - ending in Top 8 at least. However there are some other teams that are worth to keep an eye on, such as eMazing Gaming and the female team Excuse Me Miss which have received a lot of recognition from the DotA scene. Time to show what they're made of.
