Pre-season starting in WCL DotA

The WCL DotA League is back in action, and the pre-season matches are about to start. GosuGamers caught up with the WCL DotA administrator DarkFire to answer our questions.

You just announced the new season, what do you expect for the upcoming season?
- For the first season of WCL.Dota, we hope to be able to bring teams (new and old) into the league, and help us construct a League format, different from the other leagues. Are hope is to bring the Dota teams into our community, not only growing the WCL, but also the Dota community.

Will we see any prizes at the end of the league?
- At the moment no. However, we are looking for ways to get sponsors and be able to give out prizes to the top finishers. However, since the league is still new, it is extremely difficult to get the sponsors!

How many applicants did you have when choosing the teams?
- Almost all of the teams that signed up got in. We wanted to keep the league to a max of 20 teams (10 Pro, and 10 Amateur), but I hate to turn down people =[ Right now there are 22 teams, however after preseason we may be announcing 4-5 new teams that will join the rest.

How long will the pre-season last?
- Just one week, the Pre-Season is here to eliminate all of the non serious teams. Meaning if they miss their Pre-Season match, they may be out!

Do you think more professional teams will look at your and be interested in joining?
- Yes, most of the teams that do want in will be placed in the Professional Division, however there is one more amateur team looking to get in, one that everybody would love to see play! So that means, there is still a spot left in the Amateur Division =P

For the pre-season matches, we will see a total of eleven matches, four from the professional division and seven from the amateur division. Matchups are as follows:
