We got to know why Back to Basic is like it is now, and that maybe they will one day team up with a professional multi-gaming clan. Fragalot joined BTB when KOG asked him whether he'd like to join a fun team to take part at MYM's Prime. But after BTB had some success there, they thought more about gaming seriously and stayed together. Dragging Milo- into their boat they developed into a really good DotA team, and when they gave the former cheater Kanga a home they became well known throughout the whole DotA scene. Fragalot sees the development of the DotA scene very positively and said that he imagines it could be in a year where CS is now.
Hello Fragalot- first of all please introduce yourself to our community.
Hi my name is Jonas Tesfay I’m 20 years old and been playing DotA for 2-3 years since 6.05 or something.
You've gone through many clan roster changes in the past, how has that affected you and the team, positively / negatively?
When Abborre and exain left BTB I thought it was the end for us but we actually found really nice players in KANGA and Arstyle.
In the beginning BTB was just a fun project. Why did you guys keep on playing, because of the success or was there something else?
Could be because of the success and the pride of doing well but I think its because we just enjoyed playing together and at the moment we are a solid team, having 7 great players in the roster.

What is your role in the team? What do you like most about your role, and who's your favourite Lan mate?
I usually play jungle/support heroes. My favourite lan mate for sure is Playmate. Someone who'll always whine when you take some creeps and always shout LET ME! when we kill heroes.
You had quite some success after you decided to play with BTB for real, and not just to participate in MYM's Pride, where do you see the future of BTB?
We are playing in so many leagues at the moment, we are playing everything there is except GosuGamers and ESL. I think our future really depends on how we do in those tournaments.
Have you any plans on joining a professional multi-gaming clan? I heard there were rumours BTB will attempt to grow into its own multi-gaming clan.
No, BTB is not going to be a multigaming clan for sure. But maybe we'll join something in the future, we will see.
At the moment DotA is becoming more and more interesting for players in the eSports scene. What tournaments do you think are the most important and why?
Online I think MYM Pride is the most important. You know that all the best teams are going to be there. After MYM I think its pretty equal among the rest. It depends on prizes I would say.
Would you participate in big offline tournaments if there are some hosted? What are your thoughts & opinions regarding offline tournaments? Also, with Dreamhack coming up, will BTB appear there?
I really want to play some offline tournaments with BTB. We actually planned to go to dreamhack before but there were some troubles. As it is now we don’t have the sponsorship to go to any lans. I think the next step for DotA as an esport is LAN events where teams from America and Europe could participate in. Troubles with bad ping and spikes don’t exist in LAN and also the issue with players maphacking disappear in offline tournaments. I might go to DreamHack without BTB and own with some irl friends.
Some say a cheater will always be a cheater, some say everyone deserves a second chance. Kanga got that chance from BTB although he's still banned in some places (DotA league, MYM PriDe). How will you handle this, any statement from you regarding Kanga?
Kanga will play in all leagues where he is allowed to play. And he'll do whatever it takes to prove that he doesn’t cheat, he has been talking about making screenshots and some special stuff, don’t know exactly. I also want to say that we in BTB don’t support cheating in anyway.
Where do you think DotA is going?
In a year or two I think DotA will be where counterstrike and wc3 is today. With some really nice events where teams from all over the world can compete in LAN.
What is your favourite hero, which side do you prefer (Sentinel or Scourge), is first pick or 2nd/3rd pick the better choice? And finally what's your favourite item in DotA?
My favourite hero have to be Lycanthrope so funny imba speed imba damage. Scourge for sure, I’m evil. I think that second pick is the best I don’t know why. 49b DAGON 5 best item for sure!!
Okay in conclusion I want to know something about yourself. What do you do when you're not "BTB|Fragalot"? What hobbies do you have, what music do you like and are Swedish girls really the best?
I’m in my second year at university in Gothenburg. Don’t think I have any hobbies except for DotA. Listening to hip hop music mostly. Yeah of course, what a stupid question Swedish girls pwns.
Thank you for your time, good luck for future projects and matches. Any last shout outs/greetings?
Thank you for this interview. Yeah shout out to my team mates, g4b3 and my irl friends who read this interview.
