Fnatic Academy parts ways with JayzaR

Fnatic Academy announced that Aleksandar “JayzaR” Zarkovic has departed from the team following a huge tournament victory at the inaugural China Top.

Fnatic Academy was formed in the summer of 2016, with the intent to create a development team that could one day compete with Fnatic’s main team. The lineup quickly exceeded everyone's, including the organization's, expectations. The team experienced much success in a very short period time, as they found themselves alongside their senior Fnatic squad in the HLTV top 30, and secured a tournament victory in China at the very first China Top event.

Fnatic Academy noted that a large part of the Academy project was to push promising players to their full potential. While JayzaR provided an effective style that granted overall team success, Fnatic Academy indicated that his style clashed with the overall nature of the team, which hindered progression on both ends of the spectrum.

JayzaR’s departure from the team was a mutual decision, and Fnatic Academy were quick to highlight that his contributions were valued throughout his tenure with the squad, and that they are looking forward to his success as he moves on to other opportunities.

Fnatic Academy is set to compete at Dreamhack Leipzig 2017 this weekend, January 13th - 14th, where David “Jayzwalkingz” Kempner will stand in as the team looks to continue their string of good performances in the new year.
