
Immortals have overpowered OpTic Gaming in a three map series, taking away the iBUYPOWER 2016 Fall Invitational Champions' title, along with $10,000 in prize money.
The Brazilian squad of Immortals has managed to outperform the Canadian roster of OpTic Gaming in the Grand final of the iBUYPOWER 2016 Fall Invitational, securing two maps of a best-of-three series. The series was incredibly close, with all three maps going into double digit scores, as well as an overtime on one of them.

It all started off on de_Train, where both teams were going shoulder to shoulder in terms of score over the course of the first half. Neither team managed to secure a significant surplus, with OpTic pulling out slightly ahead upon its conclusion. 8:7 in favour of the Canadians. After switching sides, it became apparent that the Brazilians felt very comfortable on the CT side, landing them some crucial rounds over the duration of the second half, ultimately allowing for a 16:13 finish, with but a single map left to victory.
Next up was de_Cache, the longest of the series. OpTic were aware of the "now or never" nature of the situation. The Canadians started on the T side of Cache, where they seemingly held it together. Rounds went by, however upon half time Immortals pull ever so slightly ahead, securing an 8:7 lead over OpTic. The Canadians didn't despair, demonstrating a spectacular performance and managed to mirror the score from the first half, leading to an overtime for the teams. The overtime didn't take long, with OpTic Gaming taking away four rounds to Immortals' one, securing the second map 19:16 in the Canadians' favour.
Finally we saw de_Dust2, the map that would decide the outcome of the series and hence the Champions. A familiar sight was seen over the duration of the first half, where both teams were adamant on their intentions, grinding each-other out round after round. It was the Canadians; however who got the upper hand going into the second half with an 8:7 lead. Aforementioned lead did not last long as the Brazilians composed their efforts and sprung to victory, securing a total of nine rounds to OpTics' four, taking away de_Dust2 with a 16:12 score and a 2:1 map score, securing the Champions' title, as well as $10,000 to spend.
