In the second losers bracket, the favourites for this matchup were clearly Fnatic, the current  leader in CS:GO professional rankings. We saw a best-of-three format for the match series between Fnatic and Team Liquid. It wasn’t completely one-sided, however, and went on to three maps, namely de_cache, de_cobblestone and finally de_overpass.

De_cache, the first map of the series, saw Fnatic showing a fairly average CT side for this map, where they managed to amass 9 rounds to Liquid’s 6 at the half time point. For the T side however, we saw that famous aggression from the Swedes and this allowed them to close off the match with another 7 rounds to the Americans’ 3.

Next up was de_cobblestone, a map that Fnatic is no stranger to. They are considered to be one of the best teams on this map and the outcome of this match could not have been predicted by anyone. For the first half we saw a fairly expected and even score of 10-5 to Fnatic’s T side. Going into the second half Liquid really showed why they are considered one of the best teams in North America. On their T side, Liquid managed to score 11 rounds to Fnatic’s 2 and take the series to the third map.

The last map we saw for this series was de_overpass. For the first half the Americans had issues with holding bomb sites from the Swedes, so much so that we saw the first half end at a 12-3 score for the T-sided Fnatic. In the second half a total of 8 rounds were played, four of which were secured by Fnatic, subsequently crowning them victors of the losers bracket at PGL Season 1 Finals.
