World Elite Wallops Wicked

World Elite defeats Wicked and stops the Korean-based team's cinderella story.

Yesterday was an exciting day in the world of competitive Warcraft III as the WC3L playoffs began with a match between World Elite and Wicked eSports. Wicked, the "Cinderella Story" of WC3L this season, hoped to avoid the loser's bracket by overcoming World Elite. However, World Elite's dynamic duo of Sky and InFi had other plans.

Wicked eSports has been quite the surprise of this WC3L season. After surviving a tenacious MTW team in the playdowns last season, few expected Wicked to be a legitimate contender this season. However, Wicked opened this WC3L season a roaring 3-0 and went on to upset MouseSports and SK. With strong performances by Soccer and the 2v2 combo of Soccer and SouthSea, Wicked has grown to be a team to be reckoned with.

World Elite's depth of talent has been nothing short of astounding. Even after the departure of Lyn, Remind, and SoJu last season, World Elite still muscled their way into the playoffs on the strength of Like. This season, World Elite is at it again. Lead by two-time World Cyber Games champion Sky and a supporting cast that oozes with talent, World Elite is a legitimate contender for the WC3L championship.

As lineups were posted, many were intrigued to see that World Elite had slotted Infi and Sky to confront Wicked's 2v2 team. Unfortunately, for the fans, the match was never played. The first match began with Infi sweeping FiveStar 2-0 on Lost Temple and Turtle Rock; The remaining matches were hotly contested. In Sky versus SouthSea, Sky won the first match on Terenas Stand. Next, SouthSea evened the score at 1-1 with a victory on Twisted Meadows. Finally, Sky locked up the victory at 2-1 after winning on Turtle Rock. While the battle between Sky and SouthSea raged, TeD and Soccer began their match on Turtle Rock. Although, TeD secured the first point, Soccer returned the favor on Terenas Stand. Finally, in what some consider an upset, TeD defeated Soccer with a final score of 2-1. Neither the Like versus TeRRoR sub-match, nor the 2v2 sub-match, were necessary, as World Elite walloped Wicked 3-0.
