Match Context: Royal Club StarHorn came in strong last week and the two new Korean players have sealed the MVP spots for the new LPL split thus far.  Young Glory is coming up from near the top of LSPL while Royal Club were looking to be on their way out at the end of last split, barely staying in.

What will Young Glory have to do to defeat the revitalized Royal Club, now that the problematic teammates have been addressed?

Key Points

  • StarHorn had a focus on strong threats, allowing Soraka not to be the focus while she shreds damage.
  • Young Glory's initiation relied on a Jarvan engage into Tidalwave to lock targets down. They also had Kassadin top.
  • Royal's laning phase was unremarkably superior as Uzi and Zero massacred YG's bottom lane and InSec helped crush mid.
  • Young Glory was slaughtered in all aspects, Royal Club rolled through game one.

Key Points:

  • Young Glory's comp now had a decent amount of burst as wel as split dueling capabilities.
  • Royal Club went with a "wombo" composition with Jarvan locking targets down while Yasuo knocks them up and Shyvana dives
  • in.
  • First blood went to Young Glory's support, but the exchange still went in favor of Royal Club in the first battle.
  • Number1 attempted to gain traction with a teleport bottom but to no avail.
  • Diangun's leblanc attempted to make plays top and narrowly acquired kills, but fell behind in farm to Corn as a result.
  • Messy, consistent teamfights mean no dragons or towers are taken for the first 12 minutes.
  • Most of Royal's gold was funneled onto Uzi and Insec early
  • Royal pushed subtle advantages into huge jungle invasion plays to establish map control
  • Royal consistently took all dragons and had superior map-play, eventually closing out with what looked to be an easy 2-0.

Match Context: Ever since the end of the Spring group stage, OMG has been losing their grip on being the uncontested strength of China. Their domination is the only Chinese team who's legacy has lasted a comparative amount of time to World Elite back in Season 2.

Yesterday, we saww OMG make history by losing their first ever game against EDG during the group stage, exposing one of many vulnerabilities the team has developed since the end of the spring group stage. Last week, World Elite debunked the rumor of being weaker than their academy team with a 2-0 sweep over them.  Has World Elite stepped it up, has OMG tilted, or is it both?

Key Points:

  • WE utilizes a composition that contains multiple threats rather than peeling for Kog, also giving him movespeed buffs,
  • attack speed buffs, and invulnerability.
  • OMG's composition allows for Allen to jump in in combination with Lulu ultimate, while Cool and Cloud provide zone
  • control.
  • World Elite abuse early lane swaps by bringing their duo up for an early dragon to counteract the FB Caomei gave.
  • OMG acquired map control through picks and outer towers.
  • 34 minutes in, World Elite rush a baron to bring them back into the game
  • With their baron buff, World Elite surpasses OGM in global gold and manages to get 2 inhibitors.
  • OMG were able to stall and eventually win a fight at 68 minutes that World Elite misplayed and went overaggressive on,
  • causing them to take the victory after all, ending with obscene CS scores such as Cool's 610 CS.

Key Points:

  • OMG's composition focused on initiating by surprise and combing ultimates with Nocturne, Lulu, and Leona.
  • World Elite took picks out of iG's book and went with Gragas top with the second Soraka mid we've seen today.
  • The game started slow as the first blood didn't occur until nearly 9 minutes in, where Caomei roamed into the jungle from solo bottom to assist with a kill.
  • World Elite was much more convincing with their control in this game, climbing ahead in skirmishes as well as vision and towers.
  • During the second dragon fight, OMG find a clean ace contesting the opposing five even in what looked like a disadvantageous fight.
  • Since OMG were unable to take baron after the ace, they couldn't form a comeback in the midgame.  World Elite instead took more dragons as well as the first baron of the game.
  • For the second baron, Allen attempted to steal but with no luck.  World Elite were able to siege bottom all the way to a victory.
