This will be the first official tier-1 VCT event in Vietnam.
Ho Chi Minh City is set to take centre stage in the APAC VALORANT scene, as Riot Games has confirmed that it will host the VCT Pacific Stage 1 Finals this May. This marks the first tier-one VCT Pacific event in Vietnam, and only the second in Southeast Asia, following Seoul’s role as the league hub and Tokyo’s finals roadshow stop in 2025.
The announcement came during Riot’s recent press conference in Seoul, signalling a major expansion of the competitive VALORANT footprint across the region. Fans can expect the high-octane matches, fan zones, and interactive experiences that have become synonymous with VCT events.
Vietnam steps into the spotlight, as VCT Pacific Stage 1's finals venue
“This will be our first official tier-1 VCT event in Vietnam and I’m so excited to bring VCT Pacific to a new region within APAC," said Jake Sin, Head of VALORANT Esports APAC.
He added that bringing a VCT event to Vietnam "has actually been on our minds for quite some time." Riot noted that the Vietnamese community has been expanding rapidly, with the language now ranking among the top five in VCT viewership.
Jake Sin highlighted the rising talent in the region, pointing to Công “crazyguy” Anh Ngô, "who won the IGL of the year last year," as a prime example. He also referenced recent amateur success, noting Fancy United’s victory at the APAC Predator League just two weeks ago as a showcase of Vietnamese skill.
Riot expressed that hosting two roadshows across multiple regions this year "really means a lot," adding that fans in Tokyo last year showed tremendous support, making the Stage 2 Finals an energetic and memorable experience. Beyond the high-stakes matches, attendees can expect interactive activities, exclusive merchandise, and other fan-focused experiences designed to match the hype the VCT community has come to expect.
Vietnam’s VALORANT scene has already hosted significant tournaments. Last August, Ho Chi Minh City staged the VALORANT Challengers SEA Split 3 Playoffs at the VPS Arena.
Busan, South Korea, will also host the VCT Pacific Stage 2 Finals this September, keeping the region’s competitive calendar packed with high-level action. Riot Games has promised further details on venues, schedules, and ticketing closer to the events.
