VALORANT Shuffles: 100 Thieves announces new roster for 2022

KRU Esports and Ninjas in Pyjamas also announced new rosters for the new VCT season.

Big news is coming from the Americas. Not one but three teams have announced new rosters for the 2022 VALORANT season. Two of which involves the main tournament circuit while one is for the Game Changers circuit. The three teams are now ready to face their challengers in the upcoming months as the competition heats up for the year.

100 Thieves

First off, is 100 Thieves, as they announce their full roster overhaul for 2022. After their not so spectacular run in the 2021 season, they are now back with a new lineup of players as they head to the NA VCT open qualifiers, set to start in a couple of weeks.

The new lineup consists of:

  • Adam “ec1s” Eccles
  • Hunter “BabyJ” Schline
  • Ethan Arnold
  • Spencer “Hiko” Martin
  • Peter “Asuna” Mazuryk

ec1s will be taking over as the team IGL for the 2022 season and will be steering the ship as the team aims for the Champions 2022 edition. The team saw a bountiful run last year, marred by their loss to Cloud9 Blue in the NA Last Chance Qualifiers as their season’s end cap.

ec1s previously played for the Team Liquid VALORANT lineup, before being dropped. He did show good performance when he was with Ninjas in Pyjamas. Babyj meanwhile was attached to FaZe Clan to step in for Marved, but ultimately released as the team rebuilt for 2022.

This is on the back of the news of nitr0’s departure to pursue CS:GO once again.  The new lineup will be making its official debut in the open qualifiers of NA VCT Challengers One, set to start this 27 January.

KRÜ Esports

Meanwhile down south, KRU Esports is making a new step as they announce a new all-women roster for the LATAM region. The team has made waves as the main team placed in the semi-finals at Champions Berlin. With all eyes on them by all of LATAM, they are now expanding with a new roster for the Game Changers circuit.

The new roster consists of:

  • Keila "Kalita" Nava
  • Constanza "Conir" Reyes
  • Romina "Romi" Álvarez
  • Consuelo "Consu" Rivas
  • Baesht
  • Autumn (Substitute)

The team is set to compete in the LATAM region for both VCT Game Changers, a circuit created by Riot to support women and marginalised people, as well as Challengers, looking to earn a spot for upcoming Masters tournaments.

Ninjas in Pyjamas

Another team announcing their new roster is Ninjas in Pyjamas. This time around, their roster consists mainly of South American players, unlike their previous roster where the Swedish team employed European members.

The new roster, consisting of a mixture of experienced and up-and-coming players from Brazil and Argentina, consists of:

  • Alexandre “xand” Zizi
  • Benjamin “bnj” Rabinovich
  • Walney “Jonn” Reis
  • Gabriel “bezn1” Luis da Costa
  • Cauan “cauanzin” Pereira

Xand made a name for himself as part of the FURIA team in 2021, where he was part of the team that played in the Champions group stage. Bnj meanwhile played for KRU Esports and was part of the team that went to Masters Reykjavik.

With the new roster, Ninjas in Pyjamas is hoping to finish at the top of the league in LATAM, and eventually grab a seat at Champions this year.
