X10 Crit and Fnatic were defeated by their opponents in their respective matches
Quarterfinal for VCT Champions is over, and the four teams for the semi finals have been determined. The four teams represent the best of the best in VALORANT currently, and from the four, only two will be chosen to go on to the grand finale, where the winner will walk away with $300,000 and the title of Valorant Champion 2021.
Gambit Esports vs X10 CRIT
The battle between CIS and Southeast Asia started on Fracture, wherefrom the beginning Gambit held the lead with ease against X10 Crit. The lead, plus the wins they gained in both halves of the map, gave them the easy 13 – 7 win.
In the second map, Ascent, X10 Crit rose and clawed back to become the dominant force of the match. In both halves, the team from Thailand comfortably carried the advantage versus the CIS team and this led to a 13 – 7 points win for the Thai team.
In the third map, Breeze, the table was turned for X10 Crit as Gambit regained the upper hand and controlled the narrative of the match. While X10 did give the boys from CIS a challenger, it was not enough for them to reclaim lost ground and the win goes to Gambit Esports, 13 – 7.
Gambit Esports won 2-1.
Fnatic vs KRÜ Esports
Right out of the gate, the lads from South America dominated the match even though they dropped a map to their opponents. In the first map, Haven, both teams played to a tie where KRU Esports clawed from behind and forced the map to be played overtime. In the end, they managed to score more wins in extended time than Fnatic and resulted in the win for KRU Esports 15-13.
In the second map, Icebox, Fnatic had the upper hand as they dominated the first half, leading the map 10-2 by the end of the first half. It just took them three more wins in the second half for them to win the map 13 – 6.
In the last map, Split, KRU found a second wind to pick themselves up and picked themselves up as they did as they were the aggressors this time around throughout the whole map. While Fnatic did give some challenge in the match, it was not enough for them to grab victory from the grasp of the lads from Argentina, who won the map 13 – 8.
KRU Esports won 2-1.
The semi finals for Champions Berlin will be held on December 12, which is roughly 36 hours from the time of this publication. The two matches will be:
