VCT Champions Berlin: Acend and Team Envy are the team leaders for Group A

The match between Acend and Keyd Stars ended with controversy due to an exploit.

The last group to finish its Opening match is weirdly the first group on the list. The match between Acend and Keyd Stars, as well as between Team Envy and X10 Crit complete the opening matches for Group A, as well as the group stage. Unfortunately, the matches for Group A were marred by a controversy in the Acend/Keyd Stars match.

Acend vs Keyd Stars

The EU vs Brazil match started on Icebox, where Keyd Stars took the lead even though both teams played evenly. Keyd Star showed that they are better at Icebox, hence the win to them. The tables were turned on Bind when Acend dominated the map – they grabbed the win in just 16 rounds.

The third map is where the controversy popped up. The map was Breeze, and Keyd Stars won the match 13-9, but the stewards of the competition discovered that a Cypher exploit was used unintentionally in the match to give Keyd Star a tactical advantage.

Because of this, the win that was Keyd Stars was flipped to Acend, and they won the match.

Acend won 2-1.

Team Envy vs X10 CRIT

Unlike the previous matchup, the one between Team Envy and X10 Crit was as straightforward as possible. The match started on Breeze, where both teams played to a draw in the first half, and then Team Envy picked up the pace to grab the first point by winning the map.

The story almost replicated itself in the second map, Ascent, but here Team Envy had a slight advantage against X10 Crit as they managed to grab more wins. In the end, Acent was won by Team Envy.

Team Envy won 2-0.

The Winner match for Group A will be played later as they have rescheduled the match due to the match ruling against Keyd Stars. The elimination match between Keyd Stars and X10 Crit will still be played on December 6, where the loser will be eliminated from the tournament.
