The massive Road to BlizzCon North American open is going as most people expected it. The pro teams are rising quickly through the brackets, only slowed down momentarily when they encounter another team of similar skill and experience. Cloud 9 Maelstrom, Cloud 9 Vortex, Tempo Storm, compLexity gaming, 2ARC, and Zeveron through random seeding avoided each other in the first 4 rounds, and it is only in the playoffs that teams of relatively equal skill are being matched.
But amidst the stomps, the troll picks, and the Gazlowe bans, some truly magnificent team names have surfaced. Some teams sound absurd (my personal favorite being Quack like a Duck and Team SHOODAMAGOODA), while other team names hint at serious philosophical relevations, expressing the futility of existence through such bold declarations as Team Doesn't Matter or Team Not Even Trying.
Some team names make me hungry; Appleburgers sound delicious, as does Team Banana Bread. There is even a team called The Dinner Excuse, which may either be referencing the iconic reason to stop playing Heroes, or perhaps a starving team and their cry for help.
