Blizzard Is Officially Ending Development on 'StarCraft 2'

Blizzard is looking to wind down further development on real-time strategy game StarCraft 2.

In a recent blog post, the developer announced that it would be ending production on additional "for-purchase content" for the game in the near future. While balance fixes and other updates will still be a priority, there will be no new content produced for the title. Instead, the team will be focusing on "what's next" further down the line.

"We’re going to continue supporting StarCraft 2 in the same manner as we have with our previous longstanding games, such as Brood War, focusing primarily on what our core and competitive communities care about most," Blizzard wrote.
