Heads up for the Frostheim Winter Series, the next Overwatch event with top and amateur American and European teams coming your way!

If you’re missing the competitive scene, make sure to mark the dates of the Frostheim Winter Series, which kicks off on the 5th of December and runs until the end of February. The event takes place in both the American and European region separately. Top 8 teams from the American and the European region will automatically participate in this event. An additional 24 teams (determined through seeding) will face off against the other top teams of each region.

In total 32 teams in each region will compete for 8 weeks. They will be divided into 8 groups, according to how they were seeded. Each week (until the playoffs) all teams play 2 games that will be counted towards their overall score. 8 games are played within their own division, the remaining 8 games are determined by seeding.

After 8 weeks of intense battling, the playoffs start. A total amount of 12 teams remain to compete in the playoffs. The top team from each group will directly advance to the finals of their region. First it’s up to the top 4 teams to battle it out. The remaining 8 teams will play a single elimination best-of-five matchup. The remaining 8 teams give the best of themselves for the quarter finals, which is also a single elimination best-of-five series. The next day, the long awaited semi-finals and finals of each region will take place.

The overall winner of the American region will face the winner of the European region for the Winter Series Finals at the end of February!

The games will be streamed here.
