Amateur team looking for some fun? Compete in events like these

While we usually focus on professional teams and matches, the amateur scene is very important to the community as well. Time to highlight some organizers that will gladly give you an opportunity to shine!

Even though most of our coverage is based on the pro players, who provide the highest quality of games, a healthy amateur scene is about the most important factor when it comes to keeping the competitive community strong and increasing. The popularity of our GosuGamers Weeklies in the past, and the Reddit Overwatch Championship last week proved just how much is brewing in the amateur scene. There are plenty of opportunities to be involved as an amateur team, as long as you know how to find them!

Several organizations have been involved with hosting open tournaments that are especially interesting for amateurs. Due to often low or non-existent prizepools, teams involved are just there to have a fun time playing at similarly skilled teams. This means that the following events, and similar ones out there, will allow you to get experience under your belt without having to worry about playing against the tier 1 and 2 teams:

Academy Gaming Overwatch Weekly - NA
